About Us
All about our tea shop and philosophy
Time for Tea opened on 27th December 2005. As the proprieter, I surrounded myself with things that I love: china pots, books, home-baked cakes and like minded people.
Since then Time for Tea has become a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Relaxation is the first thing on the menu! When you walk through the door you take a step back in time and your pace of life slows to a gentle beat.
Families are welcome. I myself come from a big family and am used to being surrounded by children. Dont let the amount of china put you off. There is now a new generation of teashop lovers in Prestwich. St Marys Park and the Clough provide beautiful walks in the neighbourhood and the well known Heaton Park is just 10 minutes away.
To me tea can only be enjoyed out of a china cup. There is just no other way. I believe little details are important and I take care in serving everyone who comes through my door. Every table is set for you to enjoy your tea experience!
Made with love and served with love, my food is simple, old fashioned and nourishing and my cakes are tasty. Speciality of the house is Welsh Rarebit (secretly famous).
As well as Victoria sponge (she is still queen in this shop!) my selection of cakes is as follows: Carrot & Ginger, Chocolate covered flapjack, fairy buns, lemon drizzle, scones, rich chocolate cake and fruit cake.
Homemade soups are always vegetarian and oftentimes the produce has come from my own garden. Give yourself "Time for Tea"
Please Note we have disabled access and Pushchairs are welcome.
I look forward to welcoming you in the near future.
The interior of our tea shop is spacious and relaxing, as you can see from the pictures, you can come here and truly relax in a pleasant atmosphere.
